Virginia Beach Weekend

While our honeymoon was amazing, and I can’t wait to get into al of the details- nothing beats a solid beach weekend. We are lucky to have so many around us in Baltimore. Ocean City, MD being my favorite and Virginia Beach. VA being another close one. Dave’s parents go to Virginia Beach twice a year, and we have rotated between the week in June and August. Normally we leave after work on Friday, sit in traffic for hours, and then eventually make it there around 1:30am.

This year, we decided to do something different. Since our job has adopted the telecommuting and working from home thing, we chose to leave after work on Wednesday, avoid some of the traffic around DC and in Virginia, and made it by 11pm. We worked from the business center on Thursday and Friday and then were free for the weekend! It was cool having a conference room all to ourselves, and being able to toss some ideas around face to face while we were working on some of the same projects. Dave and I had always worked on different teams, but about 4 months ago we were both moved to the same team and it’s actually been pretty cool. We still have the work/life balance, but it helps living with the designer when you need something quickly.

The Ravens had their first Preseason game on Thursday night and we walked 2 miles trying to find a bar that was playing the game…no such luck. Instead I kept up with the scores via the Ravens app, NFL app, friends and family (most who were at the game). All while enjoying a Khors Brothers ice cream- the best! The Ravens won, and I can’t wait to watch the next game, next week.

Bike rides before work to Starbucks were the best way to begin the day. I wish there was a Starbucks (or any coffee shop) within a bike ride distance from us at home!

It was wonderful to spend a day on the beach, toes in the sand and riding the waves. Then ending the day with happy hour by the boardwalk and spending time with family, it couldn’t get any better.  I can’t believe these weekends will soon be coming to an end, hopefully we get one more weekend on the beach!

I LOVE your hair! I went shorter a few months ago but now it’s so grown out! Oh and it is so awesome that you and Dave work together!

Thank you!! I really like it, I may have had tears in my eyes when I was having it cut though. It’s been long forever! I love that we work together, we stay pretty separate during the day, but go to lunch together often. It’s nice to always have some one that totally understands my complaints or excitements from work.

Thank you!! I curled it everyday for almost the first week, and then straightened it for the first time today. It’s SO much easier to deal with, but it’s at the length that I NEED to do something or it’s a frizzy mess and it’s too short to put up. Have fun at home! I seriously need to get to Bethany Beach before summer ends.

Your post-wedding chop is SO CUTE!!! Oh man, I would kill for some Kohr brothers right about now. Can we just talk about how soft serve, never mind frozen custard, is apparently not a thing around here?!
