My Favorite Travel Destinations

Favorite_Destination malta marine I have started realizing how blessed we are to be able to travel to so many places. For some, our number of trips are a small sample to theirs, but to others, we have lived their dream trips. This really makes me so thankful to have so many memories in different countries and states. It also makes me want to share some of my favorite places, so maybe at least one person will get the motivation to add it to their own bucket list, 101 in 1001 list, or maybe a 30 before 30. Is anyone else realized just how many “goal” type of lists their are? I think I am going to do a 101 in 1001 list soon. Now, I am getting side tracked…anyways!

amsterdam

My two favorite places in Europe are Amsterdam and Malta. I will admit that I absolutely judged Amsterdam by things I have heard, think lots of weed and the red light district. My little homeschooled self was terrified of these things 10 years ago, and I still had an inkling of that fear when we were planning to go two years ago. But once we arrived, everything changed. Amsterdam was magical. The canals, the people, all of the bikes. It seemed like I had fallen into a storybook, and I absolutely didn’t want to leave. We were only there for 36 hours, but it was such an amazing time. You can read more about our trip here.

My second favorite European adventure was in Malta. If I am being honest, I had never really heard about Malta before booking our cruise, so I didn’t really expect much. I did find two things online that I wanted to see while we were in port, but I hadn’t made any plans excursion or transportation wise. There were a few days of our trip that I left open to be spontaneous, and I am really happen one of those days was in this beautiful country.

When we got off the ship, we went out towards the main area and were greeted by taxi drivers, bus drivers and a hop-on hop-off salesman greeted us. It was 10 euros for an all day pass, so we figured why not give it a chance. We basically were able to go all over the country and get off whenever we wanted. This was the BEST thing we could have done. Malta was full of culture, gorgeous waterfront views, amazing grottos and  such wonderful architecture. I am excited to share more about this wonderful place in another post.

san diego

Now for the good ol’ USA. This is another tie for my favorite place. San Diego is high on my list because of the memories I have from here. I have been on several west coast trips with my mom, and we have had so many adventures along the California coast. We went swimming with Sharks in San Diego, had some of the best Mexican food one could ever have, and spent hours reading on amazing beaches. I could spend so much time all around San Diego and maybe never get bored.

austin

Second would be Austin. I have shared my love for this beautiful city before, but it really captured my heart from my first visit. From Torchy’s Tacos and Home Slice, to everything on 6th street and the water views, it is a close to perfect city. It has been on our list of possible places to live because it is a tech city and it has a great atmosphere on the outskirts for a family. We will see what happens, but for now I will continue to enjoy living there! Also, most of Friday Night Lights was filmed in our around Austin, soooo… #TexasForever.
