“Fit is not a destination it’s a way of life”- FITSNACK
I have been fairly focused on my eating habits lately, I watch portion sizes, make sure I drink enough water and even eat all of my vegetables. There comes a time when this just gets old, and I need a little bit of a change, this is where snacks come into play. A few years ago I would have opted for a big bowl of ice cream or a piece of pie, but these days I want to fill my cabinets with healthy snack options. I have plenty of almonds, olives, baby carrots, etc. but I would love a nice sweet option as well.
I head to the grocery store (most the time this means Target), grab a few options and head home to taste them. Lets be honest, they are terrible most of the time and I have wasted $20. But in comes FitSnack. Once a month they will send you a box with samples of a variety of healthy products. There will be snacks, breakfast items, protein powders and some vitamins. This allows me to taste test and decide what I really want to spend my money on to stock my cabinets. FitSnack just sent me my first box and I am so excited to share my opinion of the products. They also included a full body workout sheet!
The Fit Snack box is carefully curated each month to include 6 – 9 different items that are not only delicious but are also designed to provide clean energy to support an active, fitness-focused lifestyle. Our team focuses on as much of the Fit Snack Perfect 10 as possible, across three categories: Nutrient Dense, Consciously Made & Diversified Energy.
The Protein Bakery- YUM! Protein is needed to build muscle, so this was a huge bonus for me. I love protein shakes, but if I can get it in a dessert like form, I am all about that as well! These treats are nice because they help to make you feel full, and provide the health benefits you need. I am not a fan of peanut butter, so I can’t accurately say if that one was great or not, but the Chocolate Chocolate White Chip one was perfect. It tasted like it just came out of the oven.
NOGII Protein Powder- What I loved about these powders is the ingredients. They are made of whey and quinoa, and without artificial sweeteners, flavors or added colors. They also have 7 grams of fiber and 20 grams of protein per serving. They aren’t the yummiest powders, but I can always fix that by adding some fruit. I would likely buy this again.
Fit Snack Raw Almond & Pumpkin Mix- This snack is made up of healthy fats, fresh seeds, and is high in protein. I generally am not a pumpkin fan but I do LOVE almonds, so I wasn’t sure about this, until I tried it. It was a nice snack if I wasn’t sure if I wanted salty or sweet, I’m not sure I would seek out purchasing something like this, but if I saw it on the shelf I may pick it up.
Fit Snack Veggie Chips- These chips are much lower in sodium than a traditional bag of chips while also being free of harmful fats and cholesterol. Chips are a wonderful thing in our house, but I never buy them because of the unhealthy ingredients. I’m pretty sure I will buy these again.
Somersault- I received the cinnamon crunch flavor and it was amazing. I loved this as a mid morning snack. It has just the right amount of sweetness to keep me happy. I will totally be buying more of these in the future.
Kays Naturals- Cookie Bites are perfect for me. I love eating while driving and these were a great snack option while driving home from work. They were delicious and I will probably be purchasing again. They are made with espresso beans and dutch cocoa so there is a perfect mixture of sweet.
Simply 7 Snacks- I received the quinoa and lentil versions of these chips. I was not totally sold on the lentil kind, but the quinoa was better. They are available in several different flavors and the best part is they are non-GMO, gluten free and kosher! If you are a chip lover like my fiancé, I highly recommend these.
Gocopod- Coconut oil to go. I loved this because I was able to toss it into my purse and use it throughout the day. I added half to a smoothie and the other half to my coffee. It was great and super convenient.Oven Baked Organics- I received the pancake mix and LOVED it. This was by far my favorite item, so an entire post will be dedicated to them next week.
Oven Baked Organics Pancake Mix- Oh my gosh I loved this. I will have an entire post about this next week because it’s possibly my favorite pancake mix ever. It’s also gluten free…score!
