So where do we go from here? I have lots of things I want to write about, and I miss this space, so I plan on writing when I can and ensuring that I don’t have the pressure of a specific schedule. I can’t believe I used to write on a daily basis, the time is just not there these days but the need for commitment isn’t really either. So let’s get this going with a big ol’ life update.
This is the big one. Ollie turned 1 in May and we had a big party for her in June. Her birthday party was featured on Something Turquoise, and I will likely share more here as well. We had such an amazing day celebrating our daughter. I spent 2 weeks before her birthday crying often because I couldn’t believe how quickly the year went by. She is so happy and smart and I am likely saying these things because I am biased but I feel like her “baby-ness” is SO fleeting. She is a full blown toddler now so I cherish the snuggles, the moments we have nursing, and the times she reaches for me.
Olivia started gymnastics and loves it! She can walk on the balance beam while only holding 1 hand, she can almost flip over on the mat and she enjoys the foam pit- especially when Dave gets in with her. She really likes swimming around in the pool and will float around on her own when she is wearing her puddle jumper. She is an outdoor babe after my own heart!
We celebrated 4 years of marriage in June! I still don’t understand how we have been married for 4 years already- it’s been an amazing walk through life with Dave. We went to Virginia wine country for a night and loved galavanting without a diaper bag but we couldn’t stop talking about our little girl.
We have taken a step back from traveling since having Olivia but we have some exciting trips coming up now that she is a little older! We are taking our annual beach trip in September this year and the countdown is on. I am looking forward to several days in a row with our little family, plus our extended family. Olivia sharing in quality time with her cousins is really important to me since she likely won’t have a sibling #onlychildlife.
We will also be traveling to Buffalo & Niagara Falls in September, and then Busch Gardens for our annual Halloscream trip! I’m hoping to get my butt back in gear to share more about our vacations again.
Life in General
I feel like so much has happened over the last several months! I turned 28, a brewery opened right by our house (this is a HUGE one for us haha), my cousin got married and all three of us were in the wedding, our Mothers day was rained out but our Fathers day was perfect, we had a great 4th of July, and have enjoyed a lot of cookouts.
We have celebrated 30th birthdays, wedding showers, baby showers and new babes. A few of our close friends have had babies, one of my closest friends, Lauren, is due to have twins within the next several weeks and we’re so excited! One of her little guys will be our Godson and we can’t wait to finally hold him- though we want him to stay cozy for a little longer.
Dave’s brother is getting married this weekend and I CAN’T WAIT to finally be able to call Kayla my sister-in-law. She and Tommy have been together for just a few months less than Dave and I, so she has been in my life just about as long as Tommy!
We have some huge home updates coming up but they deserve their own post. I’m really excited to make some changes but nervous in general about costs and the time it will all take.
Well that’s that on a lot of things going on in our life. I’m excited to be back and checking in more often!
