Blogger Girls Trip To New York City

Over the weekend I spent a day in New York City with some of my favorite gals- Megan, Laura and Annie. We have been talking about a girls trip literally since the first day we met in person, last September. We put this one on the calendar several months ago and started talking about what we wanted to do and see. Since we are all lucky to live only a few hours away, we have each been to the Big Apple a few times, this was nice because there weren’t many things we all had to see. We decided to make the drive instead of taking a train or a…

Why Making Friends While Blogging Is Essential

When I started blogging I truly had no idea what it would turn into. I didn’t know what comments were, and I didn’t expect to also follow these people on Twitter or Facebook. I especially didn’t think I would eventually be emailing and texting people I met on the internet every single day. After two and a half years I have realized that these blogger friends I have made are honestly my favorite part about this space. Don’t get me wrong, I love sharing my travels and learning about new places, but what would this be without friends? This made me think, would I keep blogging and being creative through…

    My Favorite Link-Up’s

A few months ago, during the community series, I mentioned that linking up with other blogs is one of my favorite things about blogging. I love having one similar thing to talk about with several other bloggers, and this is the perfect way to do that. If you aren’t familiar with link-up’s it is where one, or a few, blogs host a gathering of sorts for bloggers to share posts related to a specific topic. The topic can be as specific or broad as the host desires, and can be about anything. The right way to go about link-up’s is easy. Find one that matches topics that you blog about,…

These are all tips for the blogger that is working to build their following, reach the “right” reader (if there is such a thing), and those building a business. As I have mentioned in previous posts, there is no right or wrong in blogging. These tips are just pieces of advice that will lend a helping hand when a blogger is just starting out. I strongly believe in blogging for YOU, if that is what you want to do, however most…

  • Why I DO Read Your Blog

What is up with the constant posts about “Why I Don’t Read Your Blog” posts? Is this supposed to help others become better at blogging? Better at sharing THEIR own life with the community of bloggers? I get it, to an extent, some people just want to read the posts about how to get more followers, or learn how to quit your job and work as a full-time blogger. But why does that limit everyone else from sharing why they actually started blogging? Or make them feel like their posts meant to help others, aren’t good enough? Two years ago I started blogging as a way to recount adventures I…
