• Holland America Cruise through Europe

Holland America Cruise Experience: The People

Next week marks one year since we left for our honeymoon, and now that I am finished with all of the location overviews, I want to share some more about the transportation between places- the cruise ship! When we first started talking about our honeymoon, I don’t think a cruise ship was the first thing to come to mind, but we knew we needed to get back to Europe! I actually was inspired by another bloggers European adventure to look into cruise destinations, and when I became a little overwhelmed between planning our wedding, planning other weddings, and our honeymoon, I knew we needed to contact our travel agent. I…

A Walking Tour of Trogir, Croatia

Last week, I talked about how we spent our first day around Split, Croatia. Today, I wanted to share how we ended the day after exploring Krka Falls. Our tour guide was from a small town in Croatia, one that happened to be on our ride home from the falls…so of corse we wanted to stop and hear about his town! I had heard about Trogir, Croatia in my research prior to our honeymoon, but I hadn’t looked into it very much because I knew we would have a busy day once we arrived in Split. I’m really happy we were able to stop, and explore the area. There is…

    Split, Croatia: Krka Falls

Our stop in Split, Croatia was one of the few that I had several plans for. There were so many things that I wanted to do, and it was pretty difficult deciding. I read that the city itself was unique and beautiful, but there were several other towns surrounding Split. Less than an hour away was also a beautiful UNESCO waterfall, Krka. Dave really left things to me (as he always does) when it comes to planning, so even though I told him about all of the options, he said anything was fine with him. I decided to book transportation and a tour to the waterfalls. I had met another…

A Morning On The Beaches of Argostoli, Greece

When I pictured Greece, I thought about blue roofs and beautiful beaches. While we didn’t go to Santorini to get the full blue roof, white house effect, we absolutely got the beautiful beaches. We actually had this in several countries besides Greece, Italy for example, but the beaches of Argostoli, Greece were something out of a dream. Literally, I thought I should have been pinching myself. As I mentioned before, I attempted to follow a loose plan while we were honeymooning. I am known to be an over planner, so it was important to me (and VERY important to Dave) to leave things open for spontaneity. We wanted to experience…

  • KOTOR, MONTENEGRO

    A Day Exploring Kotor, Montenegro

Another country to cross off of my list is Montenegro. One of the stops on our cruise was in Kotor, a smaller city at the end of a gorgeous sail through the fjords of Montenegro. Let me tell you, if you are arriving earlier in the morning, have breakfast delivered, and enjoy it on your balcony if you can. It was an amazing view! Foggy mountain tops, beautiful greenery, and lovely scenes all around. Kotor had a small town, and a pathway along the water where there was a swimming area, pool for practicing water polo, a shopping center and…a mall! I was excited to see some things other than…

  • Swimming And Biking in Korcula, Croatia

If you want to see a very small european town in Korcula, Croatia is the place to go. Before we arrived, we were told that you could walk the entire city in under 5 minutes, we thought this could be an exaggeration…it wasn’t. But a smaller city, does not mean anything when it comes to charm and character. This was the only stop that we needed to be “tendered” into the town, which meant our ship anchored out at sea, and we took these tiny orange boats into the dock. It was nice to have a quick ride with some new people, we were able to meet some others we…
