I love coming back to work after a long and wonderful weekend….said no one ever. With that being said, I am not hating this particular Monday as much as I have others. Way too much happened this weekend to go into detail this early into the week, but maybe soon I will sit down and pour my heart out onto this screen. The weekend started off not so wonderful, but it ended in a fantastic way…#NationalMargaritaDay.
I have been praying for snow since the beginning of the winter, all we seem to get is the start or finish of another states massive blizzard. Well, I finally got what I was asking for but it so happened to be the weekend of my birthday shenanigans. This did not stop me and some of my great friends from enjoying it.
First, I will recap my actual birthday, hey there Chuck E Cheese’s. I thought we were going for games, pizza and hanging out, but my mom actually scheduled a real birthday party. This included a cape, crown and Chuck himself coming out for a dance or three. We all had a blast, it is so much fun to see my grandparents getting into the games. Perfect way to welcome 24.
I spent Friday night with one of my best friends helping her get things ready for her big day. I can’t for her wedding, and all of the joy it will bring their little family. Her son is also the cutest thing ever, so I will never complain about seeing him. It was really nice to relax for a night before the snowstorm hit.
Saturday morning we woke up to about 2 inches of snow, the weatherman said we could get anywhere from 2-10inches, sounds like a huge difference to me…but this was not stopping me, my mom and sister from vintage shopping. We ventured to this cute little area that houses 3 vintage barns once a month. It was really cool seeing the things people can do with vintage pieces, it was also very inspiring. I can wait to get back into wedding DIYs this week.
That evening, we decided to have a game night and drinks at my grandparents and go out on Sunday in order to keep watching the gorgeous flakes fall. Dave got all of the fixings to make Shark Attacks, and we had a few bottles of wine. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family, and I know whenever I need a drink, they want a few too.
On Sunday, we relaxed for the morning and then took my brothers sledding. The snow looked so beautiful and we all had a really nice time together. It’s nice to have a good relationship with my brothers even though there is a large age gap between us.
After sledding we were off to dinner with some friends to celebrate birthdays and margaritas. We had so much fun celebrating the holiday in the best way possible…$3 margaritas! I couldn’t even stay awake to watch the Oscars, so I am enjoying the recaps this morning.
