Wedding Wednesday {Which Hairstyle?}

Wedding hairstyle

Welcome back to the “best day of the week” link-up…also known as Wedding Wednesday! This week Meg is off on her Honeymoon, are we all jealous or what? I can’t wait to hear all about her getaway with her hubby!

As the things get checked off on my to-do list, I keep coming back to one thing- my hair. I know I want to have it half up and curled, but there are so many options on Pinterest, I just can’t decide on one. I have already had my hair trial, but here I am still contemplating what I want to do. Does it take everyone this long, or is it just me? Why is this so difficult.

Hopefully these guidelines will make it a little easier for you to choose which type of style you want, and then you can narrow it down to just a few to pick from. But if you are like me, it might not, so don’t hold me to it. In the end, these are good things to think about while you are deciding what to do.

Your Dress

Your hair should complement your dress. If you have a strapless dress, think about wearing your hair down. If your dress has sleeves or lace over your shoulders, you may want to wear it up to show off all of the details.

The Length

Is your hair long, short, shoulder length? Depending on your hair, this may somewhat limit your options. However, you can always get extensions, or cut your hair! I have personally let me hair grow out for our wedding (and I can’t wait to cut it afterwards!)

Are you wearing a veil or headband? Do you want a flower crown? Think about the extra pieces you will need to incorporate, and then look for inspiration with something similar.

For me, I need to keep in mind that I will have a veil on for the ceremony, but then I still want my hair to look good when I take out for the rest of the festivities. I also want it to be easy maintenance throughout the night.

So now I am turning to some of my favorite ladies- the Wedding Wednesday group! Which hairstyle do you like the most? I am leaning towards the top right, but I can’t completely say “YES!” just yet!

We would love to have you link up with us! Please link back to either mine or Meg’s  blog to keep the Wedding Wednesday love going around! We can’t wait to read your bridal tales, wedding stories and of course look at the pictures from your big day!

I love the half up with curls idea (for me my hair just doesn’t curl though so it wasn’t much of an option). I really like all the ideas you shared, I would think the biggest difference is how much volume/poof do you want? I really like both on the right.

    • Macy Gutermuth

I don’t even know how much volume I want haha, terrible right? Of all things this shouldn’t be that difficult. It might be a day of decision

  • Andrea

I like the bottom left photo best. There is certainly a lot to consider though!

    • Macy Gutermuth

I might need to set aside like 3 hours for my hair the day of the wedding, there are too many options 😉

  • Morgan Sparks

Love every one of those styles!! I think my favorite is the bottom left, but they are all so pretty! It’s hard to pick a favorite.

    • Macy Gutermuth

Thank you!! I really like that one, too. I wish I could change my hair several times throughout the day 😉

  • Kaylie T

That top right one is beautiful!! I say, do that one! (: Good luck with the decision!!

    • Macy Gutermuth

It’s such a tough choice! I may try a few while the stylist is there…hopefully she doesn’t hate me 😉

  • Meg Taylor

I did the same half up/curled look and it was perfect. I had the veil fit right into the top ‘do, then the side hair piece throughout the day. I love that gold flower one in the bottom left photo! Can’t believe how close we’re getting to your wedding :)

    • Macy Gutermuth

I love how your veil looked with your hair! I can’t believe it either, just over a month now! The nerves are starting in full force 😉
