Exploring The Waterfront in Argostoli, Greece

Argostoli, Greece

Last week, I started talking about our beach day in Argostoli, Greece and today I am back to tell you about the rest of our day in this beautiful area of the country. After we spent several hours soaking in the most beautiful water, eating delicious food, and enjoying some drinks, we wanted to see more of the town. We took the bus into the city and decided to walk around for a few hours before heading back to the ship.

The bus dropped us off near the main square, and it was the perfect time to see all of the locals heading to lunch. Shops were closed for a few hours, so we found a small cafe with wifi and enjoyed some more downtime while catching up with our family in the USA. One thing I loved about this trip was totally unplugging for 80% of the time. The only chance at communication was when we were having lunch or dinner off of the cruise. This was also the Amazon non-Black Friday day, so Dave caught up with some of the deals.

We spent some time people watching, Facetiming our family, and downloading new books. When shops started to reopen, we started wandering the streets. I know I have said this before, but walking around European countries, cities and towns is one of my favorite things in the world. I love having no agenda and just walking wherever my feet take me. I am obsessed with alleyways, flower baskets outside of windows, and pretty colored bikes. Greece had all of these things.

The waterfront was so beautiful, and we even saw a large tortoise swimming around the edge. There were smaller shops, adorable cafes, and families walking around the area. This was one of the places were I felt like I was just another person walking around, not a tourist by any means. Everyone smiled and waved to people walking by and it was just perfect. Argostoli, Greece totally won me over.
