Whether you want breakfast items before heading to the parks, snacks for the room, or fresh produce for a longer stay, grocery delivery to Disney World resorts is a convenient option for families and travelers.

You will notice many travelers either bringing groceries with them, or having groceries delivered. With the cost of a Disney World vacation rising, this is one way families opt to save money and still have a great overall experience. Below I outline the grocery delivery process, multiple services you can use, considerations depending on your resort and room, and recommendations on what to purchase.

How Grocery Delivery Works at Walt Disney World Resort Hotels

Using a grocery delivery to Disney World service is simple and efficient. Most major delivery providers allow you to place an order online or via an app, and your groceries will be delivered directly to your Disney resort hotel.

You also have the option to order groceries and do pickup, more on this below, but the delivery service is ideal after a travel day!

Contemporary Resort Disney World

Here’s how the process of grocery delivery works when staying at a Disney resort:

  1. Choose a Grocery Delivery Service – Select from popular options like Amazon Fresh, Instacart, Garden Grocer, or Walmart+. Each service offers different product selections and delivery fees. If you already have a subscription to a specific service, it’s more than likely that it will be available for you to use in Orlando to potentially skip the service fee or delivery cost.
  2. Enter Your Resort’s Delivery Address – When placing your order, make sure you enter the correct address for your Walt Disney World Resort hotel to avoid any delivery delays. Check and double check that the address you use is the address for the front lobby of the hotel, not the service entrance or a bus stop. Ask me how I know 🙂
  3. Schedule Your Delivery – Many services allow you to choose a delivery window. Some services, like Instacart, offer same-day delivery, while others require 24-hour advance notice. I suggest using a service that allows you to place an order the day before but modify it up until soon before the grocery gathering will begin. You can never predict delays, etc. Keep in mind, you do not need to be at the resort by the time of arrival. The grocery items will be dropped off at the resort and kept in the right environment for you to grab once you arrive.
  4. Pick Up Your Groceries – Your groceries can be picked up at Bell Services at your resort. As mentioned above, Disney resorts allow grocery delivery drop-offs even if you are not present at the time of delivery. There is no cost for Bell Services to hold your groceries but it is recommended that you tip when picking up. I generally tip $1-$2 per bag, or around $10 total.
  5. Bell Services Handling Fee – If you opt for Bell Services to bring the groceries to your room, a delivery fee of $6 (subject to change) may apply.

Pro Tip: Package delivery is different than grocery delivery. If you have an Amazon package (or similar) sent to the resort, there will be a holding fee of $6-$7 for each package being held. They will be available for pickup at the business center in most cases.

  • Allows substitutions if an item is out of stock.
  • Instacart app makes ordering easy.

What to Order for Your Disney Resort Stay

We have ordered groceries many times for our Walt Disney World vacations. The first few times I ordered way too much, then I ordered too little and wished we had more by the end of our trip, but I feel like I have figured it out at this point.

I suggest thinking through your specific family members. If they wouldn’t eat or drink something at home, they aren’t going to want it on vacation, so skip the ready-made protein smoothies and apples if that isn’t already a go-to.

Pro Tip: Have your grocery list prepped in advance and be ready to go when it’s time to place your vacation grocery delivery.

When using a grocery delivery to Disney World service, consider ordering:

  • Breakfast items – Cereal, milk, fruit, yogurt, granola bars. One breakfast option per day, per person is enough.
  • Snacks – Crackers, chips, trail mix, protein bars. Something that you can throw into your park bag and eat while in line, but won’t melt quickly.
  • Beverages – Water bottles, juice, coffee, sports drinks. Coffee is available in every resort room, so if you aren’t picky about your coffee options, just grab creamer!
  • Fresh produce – Apples, bananas, grapes, carrots. Again, see above, if your family doesn’t snack on fresh produce at home, it’s not going to change in Disney BUT- bananas, apples, and carrots are super easy snacks!
  • Quick meals – Peanut butter, bread, deli meat, cheese. To be honest, I stopped ordering these because of the prep time for sandwiches. However, it was a great option to have!
  • Baby essentials – Diapers, wipes, etc. If you have a baby, sometimes it’s easier to just have this stuff delivered instead of bringing it all with you in your luggage.
  • Personal items – Sunscreen, lotion, etc. The gift shops in Walt Disney World hotels are great for smaller items like a forgotten toothbrush, but it can be expensive. So think through the more personal and household items you may need as well.

Pro-Tip: Hydration packs are a must for the warmer months in Disney! Either bring them with you or order them.

Pros and Cons of Grocery Delivery at Disney World

Pros:

  • Saves money compared to dining in the parks. Keep in mind the additional costs you may have though, between tipping the delivery driver, delivery fees, etc.
  • Breakfast options! Disney World theme parks are not good at breakfast for whatever reason. Personally, I don’t eat pork and options are extremely limited. But seriously, options are limited in general for everyone.
  • Convenient for families traveling with kids. For days when you want to hang out at the resort, everything is there and ready to go.
  • Easy to stock up on water and snacks for the parks.
  • Customizable options for dietary needs. This is a huge one! Disney is amazing at handling dietary needs, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. Sometimes it’s just easier to have your own options readily available.
  • No need to leave the resort to shop.
  • Adult beverages on deck. If you want to enjoy some cocktails while in Disney, it’s going to be a huge budget line item if you stick to buying drinks in the parks. I highly recommend ordering drinks to have in your room.

Cons:

  • Some services have minimum order requirements so keep this in mind. You can’t just quickly place an order for a few things in all cases.
  • A delivery fee may apply for each order, confirm whether you have an order minimum to hit.
  • Limited delivery options. Depending on the delivery service, you may have limited options, but this isn’t totally a con since the resort can store your bags. Just look into options between a two-hour delivery window, immediate delivery, etc.
  • Bell Services may charge $6 to bring groceries to your room.
  • Refrigerated storage availability varies by resort.
  • Potentially limited space in the hotel room. Not all rooms have refrigerators, kitchenettes, a full kitchen, etc.
  • Limited to mainly nonperishable items. If you order a full delivery of non-perishable items, it’s going to be difficult to store and take to the park.

Tips for a Smooth Grocery Delivery Experience

  • Schedule your order in advance to secure your preferred arrival date and delivery time.
  • Label your order with your full name and reservation details for easy pickup.
  • Check the resort’s storage policy if ordering perishable items.
  • Order extra snacks and drinks to avoid costly impulse purchases in the parks. I always think through enough snack items for each day of our trip for each person.
  • Check and double check the resort address for your Disney hotel.
  • Skip bringing any of your own groceries if you are getting delivery. It’s easier to have it all delivered!
  • Have your shopping list prepared and ready to go in advance.
