Things To Do: Must See Murals In Austin
I could spend hours going through the #StreetartEverywhere hashtag on Instagram, it amazes me the art people come up with for sides of buildings, sidewalks, etc. Mostly, I love a good mural. Thankfully, murals in Austin are amazing and you can spend a beautiful afternoon walking around to see them. There are several beautiful walls adorned with beautiful art, most of them being pretty famous because they are so heavily photographed.
Before my last trip, I made a google map of all the murals I knew I would like to see. Unfortunately, I was exhausted most days after work and only made it to a few of them, but I am happy with what I could see. They are each so different, beautiful, and creative. Could somebody please sell me an ounce of their skill because I am terrible when it comes to painting.
This mural is across the street from Dolce Neve, an amazing gelato shop. So grab a cup and wander over to get photos with this beautiful mural.
I have a photo of me and Dave from in front of this mural from our last stop in Austin, but it was late at night so it wasn’t the best. This time I found it right before sunset…and also grab some coffee from Jo’s which is the building that owns this wall
Sixth Street is one of the main places you will find in Austin for going out and having drinks. There are open bars with live music almost at all times, and you can find something to do at any point during the day or night. The mural is the welcome sign from one end of the street
I wasn’t able to make it to this mural, even though it was at the very top of my list. How cute is this? (photo via Creative Suitcase)
