What to See in Tropea, Italy
Today Danielle from According to D telling us all about a trip she took to Italy. She is talking all about Tropea, and the reasons you should go there, too! If only we were able to get to Tropea while we were in Italy ourselves, maybe next time!
Hello! My name is Danielle Greco! I am currently 25 years old and I became a blogger as of October of 2014. My husband and I live in the Denver area. I have lived in Colorado my entire life and love it! I am recently married to the sweetest man on Earth, Nick Greco! We are both entrepreneurs and business owners. I decided to start this blog because I love so many things and I love to document it all! I love travel, fashion, beauty, cooking, fitness, being crafty and doing DIY projects! I figured, since I love these things so much and I get to do so many amazing things, that I should share it with the world through my blog, According To D!
For those of us planning a trip to Italy, there are so many good choices of where to go. Italy is a county full of beautiful scenery, culture, history and of course – FOOD!
Here is the problem: When you’re planning a trip to Italy there are so many wonderful places to see it can be difficult to decide where to go. You almost can’t go wrong going anywhere in Italy! Here is why I believe Tropea in southern Italy should be at the top of your list
Tropea, Italy completely stole my heart!! Tropea is in southern Italy. My husband and I loved EVERYTHING about it there!! The Mediterranean Sea was the most beautiful blue water I have ever seen in my life! The food was absolutely AMAZING! And the people were so friendly!
The Sea!
Count on having many beach days while in Tropea, as it is a beach town! Tropea is a place where the Italians take their vacations/ holidays. You will not hear or see many American’s visiting here because it is mostly other Italians visiting here! Which I personally think makes it more of an “Italian experience”. There are many things to do by the sea, you can rent a boat, rent floaty tubes, paddle boats, etc. Make sure to rent an umbrella, that way you do not over heat in the Italian sun.
The Food!
We enjoyed the food here much more than the food in Rome! We ate so much pizza, pasta, gelato, fried foods, different meats… and more gelato! There is a huge price difference between Rome and Southern Italy. The food here was extremely cheap compared to Rome, and seemed to have more flavor! The main part of town in Tropea is fairly small, so while you are there look for a restaurant overlooking the Sea! We ate at one place overlooking the Sea, watching the sun go down… We ordered a liter of wine, some anti-pasta (appetizers), pizza and pasta; the whole meal was less than 30 euros! In the U.S. we would pay $100 just for the view, we were in heaven ! And of course, came back for dinner another night too!
Thank you so much, Danielle for this awesome post! I hope you all enjoyed it and are eager to travel to Tropea yourself. If you do, take me with you! If you would like to catch up with Danielle, check out her links below!
