A Letter To My Daughter | Dear Olivia

Darling Olivia,

I have spent every minute of everyday with you for the last 40 weeks. You are the only person who knows what my heartbeat and terrible singing voice sound like from inside. You are going to change my life in so many ways but the biggest one being that you are going to make me a mom. From the moment I learned about you I have been filled with excitement and that excitement has only grown since September.

I have always been so close with my mom and knowing that I have the opportunity of that relationship with you is life changing in and of itself. I look forward to our mother/daughter dates, matching outfits, the first time I take you to have your hair done, and so much more. But I’m most excited for the bond I hope we share. I hope you want to share things with me, spend time with me, and grow together over the rest of your life. I’m going to mess up as your mom and as a person, but I truly hope to learn from those errors to be better for you. While my life is going to change and my eyes will be opened to new things, I can’t wait for each of these things to happen…all because of you.

You’re coming into a scary world but I know you won’t have a problem because of everyone around you and the love of Jesus shining down on you. You have the best grandparents and great grandparents in the world, you have many aunts and uncles (some by blood and others by friendships) that will be there for you throughout every step of your life, and your dad is going to be your biggest cheerleader. You will live a life surrounded by so much love that sometimes it may feel overwhelming, but know that you are blessed beyond measure because of this.

We are anxiously awaiting the day we get to hold you tight, look into your eyes and bond with you. Your dad and I haven’t fully grasped how life-changing your presence will be, but we are overwhelmed with joy just thinking about that moment. We want to love you to loves fullest extent and cherish every moment together from your first seconds on this earth. We will likely make a few mistakes as we learn about you, your personality, your likes and dislikes, but we are all on this journey together.

We can’t wait to show you a life of adventure, share God’s word with you, and teach you about life. Olivia Ronnie, you have already impacted our hearts the way no other person ever could. We will see you soon 💕
