Best East Coast Beach Vacations for Families by Budget

Are you looking for affordable, family-friendly East Coast beach vacations in the USA? You’re in luck! There are plenty of budget-friendly beach destinations that offer sun, sand, and surf without breaking the bank. Whether you’re looking for a laid-back beach town or a bustling seaside resort, the East Coast has something for everyone.

Depending on your vacation style, you will find a wide variety of experiences between Maine and Florida, so it’s important to consider a few things while planning.

  • The vibe. Are you going for laid-back, adventurous, luxury, relaxing, etc.? Each location will cater to a different style, so be sure to consider this before determining where you want to go.
  • Cost. This is relative; what is inexpensive for one family may be different from what is affordable for another. I attempted to provide a cost summary for each location below, but you will want to look into what will fit your family’s needs.
  • Distance. Where are you traveling from? You likely have a distance in mind that you would to travel. Are you hoping for a New England Vacation, maybe a week in the Carolinas, or a Florida road trip?
  • Location. The East Coast has 14 states with a shoreline, compared to only three on the West Coast. Similar to distance, you will want to consider which area of the coast you are excited about.
  • The water. If you enjoy swimming in the ocean, you will want to understand the various tives of the Atlantic Ocean, where you can find calm waters, and where the water actually gets warm during the summer months.
