Disneyland Paris Itinerary | 2-3 Day Options & Tips

Visiting Disneyland Paris with your family? With two parks to explore, entertainment options galore, and European seasonal weather to plan for, a little strategy helps you get the most from your trip.

This Disneyland Paris itinerary will walk you through not only how to structure your days, but also how to save time (and skip lines), what to wear (and pack), and how to tailor your experience so you leave with magical memories (not regrets).

Hi there! Just a heads up- if you click on a link within this post I may receive a small commission from affiliate links. I appreciate your support of To Travel & Beyond and hope to bring you great recommendations for many years to come! See the full privacy policy here.

A trip to Disneyland Paris is a bucket list experience for Disney families, as it should be, so making sure you cover all the bases before arriving is important! Seeing parks outside of the US is really fun, but it can also be slightly overwhelming planning for all the things.

As a Walt Disney World girlie, there are a few non-negotiables for me, and they hold true at Disneyland Paris as well.

Do you need an itinerary for Disneyland Paris? Yes! I am team itinerary for all the things, but especially when it comes to Disney parks. You can plan as much or as little as you want for your family, but it’s important not to “wing” the experience, or you will have regrets and could miss major attractions. rides or experiences.

Do you need to stay at a Disneyland Paris resort? Yes! I have tried all sorts of off-site accommodations, and it’s just not worth it. The ease of Disney resorts is well worth the cost, whether it’s your first time or your 10th time.

The itinerary below is extremely similar to the itinerary we followed, just with the mistakes we made planned out more thoroughly for you.

The Two Parks at a Glance

1. Parc Disneyland (often called “Disneyland Park”)

This is the classic “Disney castle” park: fairy-tale lands, iconic rides, opportunities to meet classic characters. For families, it’s often the main destination.

Don’t miss:

  • Fantasyland rides for younger kids
  • Adventureland and Discoveryland for thrill-seekers
  • Evening fireworks over the castle

2. Walt Disney Studios Park (As of late March 2026- Disney Adventure World)

This “second park” is adjacent to Disneyland Park and offers shows, behind-the-scenes attractions, and a few thrill rides. Many guides describe it as a “half-day” park if your budget/time is limited, but it might not be as of 2026/2027 when their construction is completed.

There is much to learn about each of the parks; check out the ultimate guide to Disneyland Paris before diving into the itinerary planning to ensure you are able to know your family’s priorities.

Top picks for families:

  • Ratatouille: The Adventure – a 4D ride through Gusteau’s kitchen
  • Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure – interactive fun for all ages
  • Together: A Pixar Musical Adventure – a show worth planning around

Many changes are coming to Walt Disney Studios (soon to be Adventure World Park!), be sure to check the official Disneyland Paris website for updates.

Disneyland Paris Itinerary: 2.5 Park Days for the Family

Of course, you can stretch to 3 days if you have it, and I think you should if you can, so I included the 3-day Disneyland Paris itinerary suggestions as well.

Day 1 – Arrival & Parc Disneyland

This is a half day in the park to get your bearings, ride a few rides, and be prepared for your first full day the next day.

  • Arrive at your accommodation early (ideally staying on-site at one of the Disney hotels inside or right beside Disneyland Paris). Staying at a Disney hotel gives you extra morning access (“Extra Magic Time”), which is ideal for rides and attractions. Though it’s not needed for this first day.
  • Grab breakfast or lunch in Disney Village before heading into Parc Disneyland.
  • Take your time walking down Main Street U.S.A. This first night is mainly for exploring.
  • Afternoon: Mix in shows, slower rides, maybe plan for a dining reservation. If you have younger kids, allow for downtime/nap/quiet break.
  • Evening: Don’t plan to see the evening shows in Disneyland on your first night, it’s important to head back and get rest before your first full day tomorrow!

Day 2 – Focus on Parc Disneyland

Today is your first full day inside Parc Disneyland, the heart of Disneyland Paris. With its classic fairytale charm, detailed lands, and iconic castle, this is the day to experience the true magic of Disney. Plan ahead, pace yourself, and make time to enjoy both the must-do rides and the little moments that make the park so special.

Morning: Rope Drop & Fantasyland Fun

Breakfast:
Start your morning with a quick grab-and-go breakfast in Disney Village before heading to the park gates. There are limited breakfast options once inside, so fueling up early will help you get a strong start to the day.

Arrive Early:
Arrive before the posted park opening time to make the most of your day.

  • If staying at a Disneyland Paris hotel: You’ll have access to Extra Magic Time – arrive about 1.5 hours early to take advantage of the smaller crowds and shorter lines.
  • If staying offsite: Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before opening to be among the first in line.

Start with Fantasyland:
As you enter, take a moment to snap a few photos of Sleeping Beauty Castle – it’s even more stunning in the morning light. Then head straight through to Fantasyland, where many of the family-friendly rides open first.

  • Must-rides: Dumbo the Flying Elephant, “it’s a small world,” and Peter Pan’s Flight (if it’s open early).
  • Don’t miss Alice’s Curious Labyrinth for great castle views and fun photo ops.

Late Morning: Discoveryland Adventures

Once you’ve explored Fantasyland, make your way over to Discoveryland for more thrills and futuristic fun.

  • Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain – High-speed coaster for thrill-seekers.
  • Orbitron – Great family ride with views over the land.
  • Autopia – Kids love getting behind the wheel.
  • Star Tours – An immersive 3D Star Wars flight experience.

After a few rides, take a mid-morning break. Grab a crepe and espresso at one of the quick-service stands – perfect for a quick recharge before the next adventure.

Dragon Under the Castle in Disneyland

Afternoon: Castle Exploration & Classic Attractions

After lunch (either a quick bite or sit-down meal nearby), stroll back toward Main Street U.S.A. and take your time exploring the castle interiors. Head downstairs to visit La Tanière du Dragon, where the sleeping dragon beneath Sleeping Beauty Castle makes for a hidden gem experience.

Parade Time: In the afternoon, plan to grab a spot for the Disney Stars on Parade. Reserved viewing is available, but unless you want a front-row spot by the castle, the free viewing areas are perfectly fine – just arrive about 20–30 minutes early. If you want to ensure you have a spot in front of the castle, you can purchase Disney Premier Access via the Disney app.

Evening: Frontierland, Adventureland & Fireworks Finale

As the sun begins to set, head toward Frontierland and Adventureland for more iconic attractions.

  • Start with Phantom Manor (a Disneyland Paris exclusive and a guest favorite).
  • Continue to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, which many consider the best version of this ride among all Disney parks.
  • End the ride tour by riding Pirates of the Caribbean or Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril

Dinner:
For dinner, book a signature restaurant inside the park or nearby at your hotel. If you want a sit-down dinner, be sure to try and reserve it in advance. Some great options include:

  • Captain Jack’s – Restaurant des Pirates for a tropical, immersive experience.
  • The Steakhouse in Disney Village for classic dining just outside the park.

End the Night with Fireworks: End your magical day by watching the nighttime fireworks and drone show. Arrive about 45 minutes before showtime to secure a good viewing spot in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle. You can purchase Disney Premier Access for this experience as well.

After the show, take one last stroll down Main Street U.S.A., do a little souvenir shopping, or squeeze in a final ride before heading back to rest.

Day 3 – Walt Disney Studios Park in the Morning, Parc Disneyland in the Afternoon

By Day 3, you’ll be in the rhythm of Disney magic and ready to explore Walt Disney Studios Park, home to some of Disneyland Paris’ most exciting rides and immersive movie-inspired attractions. Afterward, you’ll head back into Parc Disneyland for a more relaxed second half of the day filled with classic Disney charm and nighttime entertainment.

Morning: Walt Disney Studios Park (Adventure World)

Breakfast:
Start your morning early with a quick breakfast at your hotel or in Disney Village before heading to Walt Disney Studios Park gates. If you’re staying at a Disney hotel, use Extra Magic Time to enter early and enjoy popular rides before the general public.

Rope Drop Plan – Priority Rides:
Head straight to one of the most popular attractions to beat the lines. This is far more important in this park compared to Disneyland Parc.

  • Avengers Assemble: Flight Force –-For Marvel fans, this high-speed coaster is a must-do.
  • Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure –-Great for families; interactive and perfect for all ages.
  • Crush’s Coaster – One of the most beloved rides at Disneyland Paris, but wait times get long quickly, so make it your first stop if it’s a priority

Late Morning – Family Favorites & Immersive Areas:
After your thrill rides, slow down and explore:

  • Ratatouille: The Adventure in the Pixar area is a 4D family-friendly experience through Gusteau’s kitchen.
  • Toy Story Playland – Perfect for kids with fun rides like Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin and Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop.
  • Cars Road Trip – This was a favorite for my daughter, but I felt like it was a little lacking. It’s worth the wait if it’s 15 minutes or less.
  • Animation Celebration – Meet Frozen characters and enjoy short performances (check show times on the app).

Lunch:
Plan an early lunch (around 12:00–12:30) before moving parks.

  • Bistrot Chez Rémy (table service, next to Ratatouille) – themed dining where everything is “rat-sized.” If you can get reservations, I highly recommend it.
  • Stark Factory (quick service, inside Avengers Campus) – fresh pasta, pizza, and salads.

Afternoon: Transition to Parc Disneyland

After lunch, take a short walk to Parc Disneyland. This is a good time for a mid-day reset – maybe grab a snack, visit your hotel briefly if needed, or do some shopping in Disney Village before re-entering the park.

Afternoon Plan – Fantasyland & Discoveryland
Since you covered many of the big rides on Day 2, use this afternoon for more relaxed attractions or those you may have missed:

  • Le Pays des Contes de Fées (Storybook Land Boats) and Casey Jr. Circus Train are both great options and usually have shorter wait times.
  • Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast in Discoveryland.
  • Walk through Sleeping Beauty Castle again and visit La Tanière du Dragon if you haven’t already.

This is also a great time for character meet-and-greets or grabbing a treat like Mickey-shaped beignets or Nutella crepes near Main Street.

Evening: End Your Trip with a Magical Finale

Dinner:
For your final evening, make a reservation at one of Disneyland Paris’ signature restaurants:

  • Walt’s – An American Restaurant (Main Street U.S.A.) – a cozy sit-down meal with park views.
  • Auberge de Cendrillon (Fantasyland) – a fairytale dining experience with Disney Princesses (a hit for families).

Optional Day 4 (if you have it)

If you have a third day:

  • Use it to revisit favorites, see less-visited attractions, relax, and enjoy the atmosphere. Some families like to slow down and soak in the ambiance rather than rush ride-to-ride.
  • If you are staying at one of the Disney-owned hotels, this is a great time to enjoy the amenities (pool, spa, etc) and use it as a “rest day”.

How to Skip Lines and Maximize Your Time at Disneyland Paris

No one wants to spend their vacation standing in long queues – especially at Disneyland Paris! With a little planning, you can make the most of your park days and experience more magic with less waiting.

1. Download the Official Disneyland Paris App

Start your trip planning by downloading the Disneyland Paris App before you arrive. This essential tool lets you check real-time wait times, view character meet-and-greet locations, browse dining options, and even purchase Premier Access passes directly from your phone.

2. Arrive Early for “Rope Drop”

Arriving before park opening – often called “rope drop” – is one of the best free ways to skip long lines. Guests who enter right when the park opens can head straight to popular attractions before the crowds build up. Plus, this is the perfect time to take crowd-free photos in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle.

3. Take Advantage of Premier Access

If you’re short on time or want to guarantee shorter waits, consider purchasing Premier Access, Disneyland Paris’ paid skip-the-line service. There are two options:

  • Premier Access One: Pay per ride for specific attractions.
  • Premier Access Ultimate: One-time access to most attractions for the entire day.
Each option has its pros and cons depending on your priorities. You can read more about which might be best for your family in the Ultimate Guide to Disneyland Paris.

4. Have a Park Strategy

Instead of starting with attractions near the entrance, head to the back of the park first. Most guests stop at the first rides they see, which means shorter queues farther in early in the day. Then, work your way forward as crowds increase.

5. Ride During Entertainment Times

Plan to experience attractions during parades, shows, or nighttime spectaculars – when many guests are focused on entertainment instead of rides. This is an easy way to enjoy shorter waits without paying extra.

6. Use Rider Switch for Families

If you’re visiting with younger kids who don’t meet height requirements, take advantage of Rider Switch. This feature allows one adult to ride while the other stays with the child, then switch without waiting in line again.

7. Plan Dining In Advance

Avoid wasting time searching for food once you’re in the park. Many restaurants require advance reservations, and others may have limited hours. Book dining in advance through the app and plan meal breaks strategically to rest and recharge between attractions.

8. Utilize the Single Rider Lines

Not every ride offers a single rider line, but it’s a great benefit where applicable!

How to Get Into the Parks Early & Choose the Right Disneyland Paris Tickets

Starting your day early can completely change your Disneyland Paris experience. With the right tickets and a little planning, you’ll spend less time in lines and more time making magical memories.

1. Stay Onsite for Early Park Access

Staying at one of the Disneyland Paris hotels gives you access to Extra Magic Time, allowing guests to enter the parks before they officially open to the public. This early entry period is one of the best ways to enjoy popular rides with minimal wait times and capture those perfect, low-crowd photos.

2. Choose the Right Park Ticket

Disneyland Paris offers several ticket options, so it’s important to choose what fits your plans best.

  • 1-Day / 2-Park Ticket: Great for those who want to experience both parks in one day.
  • 2-Day / 2-Park Ticket: Ideal for families, giving you time to explore both Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park without feeling rushed.
  • Single-Park Tickets: Perfect if your focus is on just one park, such as spending both days in Disneyland Park for younger children.

3. Pre-Book Everything You Can

Plan ahead by pre-booking your park tickets, dining reservations, and Premier Access Ultimate passes before you arrive. This not only helps you avoid long lines at the gate but can also secure better pricing and availability for popular options.

4. Arrive Early and Start Your Morning Right

Even if you don’t have early access, it pays to arrive at least 30 – 45 minutes before park opening. This ensures you’re among the first through the gates. If you’re staying offsite, remember to allow extra travel time from Paris or nearby hotels to avoid missing that valuable first hour of lighter crowds.

How to Choose the Best Entertainment at Disneyland Paris

With two parks full of rides, shows, and parades, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. Here’s how to prioritize what to include in your Disneyland Paris itinerary so you don’t miss the moments that matter most.

1. Focus on Your Family’s Must-Do Rides

Identify your must-do attractions ahead of time based on thrill level, height requirements, and family interests. This helps you decide where to head first in each park and whether to invest in Premier Access for specific rides.

2. Choose Which Shows and Parades to Watch

The entertainment at Disneyland Paris is incredible, but it does take up time. Some, like the Disney Stars on Parade or the nighttime show, are worth planning around – especially for families with young kids. If your goal is to maximize rides, consider skipping one parade to fit in extra attractions.

3. Plan Character Meet-and-Greets Wisely

Meeting Disney characters can be one of the most magical parts of the trip, but it also requires time. Check in the Disneyland Paris app to see which characters have traditional queues versus virtual queues. Decide which meet-and-greets are must-do experiences for your family before your trip.

4. Book Dining Experiences Early

Make meal times part of the fun! From character breakfasts to themed restaurants like Captain Jack’s or Auberge de Cendrillon, advance reservations are a must – especially during busy seasons. Booking ahead saves time and ensures you get your preferred dining experience.

5. Schedule Rest and Downtime

Disney days are exciting but long. Build breaks into your itinerary to relax, especially with younger kids. Whether that’s a quiet lunch, an afternoon at your hotel pool, or a calm walk through Fantasyland, rest time helps everyone stay happy and energized.

Both parks offer entertainment options for all ages. Some highlights to include in your Disneyland Paris itinerary:

  • Disney Stars on Parade: A must-see daytime spectacle.
  • Together: A Pixar Musical Adventure: Exclusive to Walt Disney Studios Park. We LOVED this show!

Tip: Book “Guaranteed Access” if you want stress-free viewing without long waits for popular shows.

What to Wear and Pack for Disneyland Paris

The weather in France can change quickly, so pack smart! It’s also helpful to think through what you will need in the park each day. A Disney park bag, fully packed the night before, is ideal for a smooth morning!

  • Dress in layers: Mornings and evenings can be chilly even in summer.
  • Comfortable shoes: You’ll easily walk 8-10 miles a day.
  • Rain protection: A small poncho or umbrella is essential.
  • Backpack essentials: Snacks, refillable water bottle, sunscreen, portable phone charger.
  • Stroller: If you have younger kids – the parks are large!

Determining what to pack for Europe in advance of your trip will ensure a smooth experience when you arrive!

Tour Experiences At Disneyland Paris

There are a variety of tour options, depending on your travel party’s interests.

  • Guided tours: At Walt Disney Studios there are behind-the-scenes tours; for older children or teens these can be fun.
  • Guaranteed Access / Reserved Viewing: As mentioned above, for shows/parades this gives you priority entrance for minimal extra cost and less waiting. It’s not availible for every show or attraction, but it’s a great free option for those who offer it.
  • Hotel perks: Staying in a Disney hotel often includes extra perks like early park access, discounted meals or easier access to parc entrance.
  • Meal Plans: Depending on your hotel package, you may have meal voucher options – worth checking for value

Tips for Families with Young Children

  • Pick rides and shows suitable for the youngest or measure minimum heights ahead of time (the app helps).
  • Use a stroller! I will be the first one to admit that my daughter will be in a stroller as long as possible during our Disney trips.
  • Utilize Rider Swap if older siblings or parents want thrill rides while younger ones wait.
  • Schedule breaks – parks can be overwhelming for little ones.
  • Consider returning to the hotel midday if younger kids need it, then come back for the more relaxed evening.

Final Reminders Before You Go

  • Tickets & hotel: Book early, especially if going during school holidays or special seasonal events.
  • App ready: Download the app, sign in, and link your tickets before you arrive.
  • Plan for weather: Check the forecast and pack accordingly (rain gear, layers, sun protection).
  • Arrive early: Every minute you beat the crowds makes a difference. Rope-drop or bust!
  • Prioritize: Know your “must-do” list and accept that you won’t do everything.
  • Enjoy it!!: One of the best things you’ll do as a family is soak in the atmosphere – smiles, castle views, character encounters – not just the roller-coasters.

A trip to Disneyland Paris is a magical experience – with some planning, you can make it smooth, efficient, and tailored to your family’s pace.

Whether it’s arriving early to get a jump on rides, booking that special restaurant, layering up for Paris weather, or just taking a moment to soak in the castle view, each piece adds to the memory. Plug this itinerary into your own schedule, adjust for your travel dates and family style, and you’re well set for adventure.
