As a St. Augustine local, we always love heading to town to enjoy winery tours and take a walk around. Between the amazing restaurants and the fun shops, it’s a great way to spend the night, especially when our friends visit! 

St. Augustine is famous for its rich history, cobblestone streets, and Spanish colonial architecture, but it’s also a hidden gem for those who love craft beverages. From locally sourced wines to expertly brewed craft beers and handcrafted spirits, St. Augustine offers a diverse and delicious tasting experience. 

Whether you’re a wine aficionado, a beer enthusiast, or a spirits lover, here’s a complete guide to the wineries, breweries, and distilleries in St. Augustine.

St Augustine Wineries & Wine Bars

While I will admit, there is a shortage of actual historic St Augustine wineries, however, there are still several wine bar options to make a wine enthusiast happy with the selection. 

San Sebastian Winery

• Address: 157 King St, St. Augustine, FL 32084
• Experience: Located in a historic East Coast Railway building, San Sebastian Winery is a must-visit for wine lovers. This award-winning winery specializes in muscadine grapes, which thrive in the state of Florida’s warm climate. Bet you never thought you would hear about a grape that loves the heat and humidity! The rooftop wine bar, The Cellar Upstairs, features live music and a relaxed atmosphere. 
• Tasting Options & Costs: Enjoy a complimentary wine tour and tasting. Tours are available throughout the day, including a selection of reds, whites, and dessert wines. The guided tours provide an in-depth look at the winemaking process.
• Food: The Cellar Upstairs is a rooftop restaurant offering a menu of small bites, including cheese platters, sandwiches, and charcuterie boards.

Carrera Wine Cellar

• Address: 35 San Marco Ave, St. Augustine, FL 32084
• Experience: Carrera Wine Cellar offers a nice local space to explore wines from around the world. With a knowledgeable staff and a relaxing atmosphere, it’s a perfect place to learn more about wine or simply enjoy a glass with friends. They offer a wide variety of events from wine  classes to charcuterie events. You can build your own flight with the Emomatic, a machine built to pour the perfect tasting. 
• Tasting Options & Costs: Wine tastings vary in price, and they also offer wine flights and educational classes. 
• Food: Light snacks and small plates are available.

Bin 39

• Address: 39 Cordova St, St. Augustine, FL 32084
• Experience: Nestled within the historic St. George Inn, Bin 39 offers a carefully curated selection of fine wines served in an intimate courtyard setting. This is a great spot for a relaxing drink after exploring the city. You will often be welcomed with live music and surrounded by friends enjoying delicious drinks. 
• Tasting Options & Costs: Offers a rotating wine-by-the-glass menu, with prices varying by selection.
• Food: Small bites and charcuterie are offered.

Fort Alley Wines

• Address: 11 Aviles St, St. Augustine, FL 32084
• Experience: Located in St. Augustine’s oldest street, Wines at Fort Alley provides a cozy and inviting atmosphere with a selection of premium wines and local favorites, like San Sebastian wines. You can opt to sit inside or enjoy your selections in the courtyard. 
• Tasting Options & Costs: Wine flights and by-the-glass options are available. You can also enjoy a few additional options like craft beers, seasonal drinks and a few frozen cocktails. 
• Food: Some to-go options are available from the Walk-In Wine Cellar 

Gifted Cork

• Address: 64 Hypolita St, St. Augustine, FL 32084
• Experience: Part wine bar, part retail shop, Gifted Cork offers an eclectic mix of wines and gifts. Their tastings are a fun and interactive way to discover new favorites. They always have great options for gift baskets which are perfectly paired with one of their over 500 options of different wines. 
• Tasting Options & Costs: Daily tastings available with varying costs, and monthly themed tastings are offered. The monthly themed tasting is $5 for a guided experience, and you can opt to keep the Gifted Cork wine glass for an additional few dollars. 
• Food: Small bites available during tastings. They also make larger tasting boards for events.

Sangrias Wine & Tapas Bar

• Address: 35 Hypolita St, St. Augustine, FL 32084
• Experience: A lively wine bar known for its signature sangrias and tapas-style menu, this spot is perfect for a fun night out with live music and a vibrant atmosphere. Sit on the open-air deck if you have the option and want to people-watch while you dine. 
• Tasting Options & Costs: Offers a variety of sangrias, wines by the glass, and wine flights.
• Food: Tapas-style menu with Spanish-inspired small plates.

Casa De Vino 57

• Address: 57 Treasury St, St. Augustine, FL 32084
• Experience: A hidden gem with a charming courtyard, Casa De Vino 57 specializes in boutique wines and offers an intimate, relaxing ambiance. Their website tagline is “Where old world meets new friends” and I love that! It’s such a special and unique spot where you can learn so much about a variety of wines. 
• Tasting Options & Costs: Wine flights and by-the-glass selections available. Private wine tasting options are available.You can also pair your tasting with a guided walking tour options to learn more about the history of the area. Tours will be customized to the patrons participating. They should be scheduled a week in advance and will be no longer than 3 hours. You can either start or end at Case de Vino 37. 
• Food: Cheese boards and light bites are offered.

St Augustine Breweries 

Ancient City Brewing

• Address: 3420 Agricultural Center Dr, St. Augustine, FL 32092 (Main Brewery) & 18 Cathedral Pl #100, St. Augustine, FL 32084 (Downtown Taproom)
• Experience: Ancient City Brewing focuses on craft beers that pay homage to St. Augustine’s history, with names inspired by the city’s heritage. Their spacious brewery features an industrial-chic taproom, while the downtown taproom offers a convenient location for visitors exploring the city.
• Tasting Options & Costs: Beer flights range from $10-$15, and pints average $6-$8.
• Food: The main brewery occasionally hosts food trucks, while the downtown location offers light appetizers. 

Bog Brewing Company

• Address: 218 W King St, St. Augustine, FL 32084
• Experience: This small-batch brewery offers a cozy and rustic setting with a focus on traditional and experimental craft beers, including saisons, IPAs, and stouts. I love the unique take on traditional style beers that they use. Everything from brewing with peppers (Smoked Datil Ale!) or the beers brewed in wine barrels to get a different flavor profile. 
• Tasting Options & Costs: A flight of four beers costs around $12, and pints are available for $6-$8.
• Food: Tacos My Blessing is available onsite most days. 

Old Coast Ales

• Address: 300 Anastasia Blvd, St. Augustine, FL 32080
• Experience: Located near the St. Augustine Lighthouse, Old Coast Ales is a favorite for those looking to relax with a high-quality craft beer after a day of sightseeing. Their outdoor seating and casual atmosphere make it a great place to unwind.
• Tasting Options & Costs: Beer flights cost around $12, and individual pints are priced between $6-$9.
• Food: They don’t serve food, but guests are welcome to bring in their own.

Dog Rose Brewing Co. 

• Address: 77 Bridge St., St. Augustine, FL 32084.
• Experience: Established in October 2017 in the historic Lincolnville neighborhood, just blocks from St. Augustine’s historic district, Dog Rose Brewing Co. offers handcrafted ales and lagers brewed with style and tradition in mind. This indoor and outdoor brewery often hosts events with live music, and is a great spot to hang out before leaving the historic area. 
• Tasting Options & Costs: Beer flight options and individual pints are available. 
• Food: Snacks are always available and food trucks are on rotation. 

Pro Tip: I highly recommend looking into a St Augustine Trolley Tour! You won’t have to worry about driving around town and it’s an easy way to see many of the popular sites.

St Augustine Distileries 

St Augustine does beverages right, and many of them start with delicious local spirits from distilleries in the area. You could have a full day of tastings, most of them are free, and really get to know about this side of America’s oldest city. 

St. Augustine Distillery

• Address: 112 Riberia St, St. Augustine, FL 32084
• Experience: One of the city’s most well-known destinations, St. Augustine Distillery produces award-winning spirits, including bourbon, rum, vodka, and gin. Housed in a historic ice plant, the distillery offers an immersive experience complete with guided tours, tastings, and a gift shop.
• Tasting Options & Costs: Complimentary guided tours include free tastings of their spirits. Specialty cocktail tastings are also available. I highly recommend booking a specific experience like the Bourbon tour or a bottling experience- they do an amazing job! 
• Food: The adjacent Ice Plant Bar & Restaurant serves craft cocktails and farm-to-table cuisine.

City Gate Spirits

• Address: 11 St. George St, St. Augustine, FL 32084
• Experience: City Gate Spirits focuses on small-batch, handcrafted spirits, including flavored rums, whiskeys, and moonshine. Their location in the historic district makes it a convenient stop during a day of exploring. This is a favorite place on my list to take out-of-town visitors! 
• Tasting Options & Costs: Complimentary tastings are available, with full-sized pours and bottles for purchase.
• Food: No food is served on-site.

Sailbird Distilling Company

• Address: 47 Cordova St, St. Augustine, FL 32084
• Experience: Sailbird Distilling is a boutique distillery specializing in high-quality, handcrafted spirits. Their tasting room provides an intimate setting for sampling small-batch rum, vodka, and whiskey.
• Tasting Options & Costs: Tastings start at $10 for a flight of their spirits.
• Food: No food is served, but nearby restaurants make it easy to grab a bite before or after your visit.

One Day Tasting Tour in St Augustine

If you want to take a tour on your own around St Augustine wineries, breweries, and distilleries, I suggest following this route. 

• Start with a San Sebastian Winery Tour, which is usually about 20-25 minutes for the tour followed by a wine tasting. The tours of the facility are free, and include the tasting option. 
• Head to the nearby St Augustine Distillery for a guided craft cocktail tour, or book a specialty tour. 
• Make your way downtown St Augustine to Sangria’s for tapas and drinks. From here, the rest of the day is within walking distance. 
• Walk around the historic downtown area, stopping into Fort Alley Wines or Bin 39. Don’t forget to take home a bottle of wine!
• After enjoying a glass of pinot grigio or cabernet sauvignon in the courtyard, stop by City Gate Spirits for a guided tasting.
• Take a walk along the waterfront, or book a beautiful sunset tour. There are incredible wine-tasting boat tours that offer guided tastings and are a truly wonderful experience from another viewpoint of the old town! You can also visit one of the beautiful restaurants in St Augustine.
