Mermaid Winery is a boutique winery that offers a selection of handcrafted wines made from high-quality Virginia grapes. Their wine tasting experience includes tasting flights, letting you explore a variety of flavors, and the chic atmosphere makes it a great spot for a relaxing afternoon. You can also purchase grazing boards as well as light bites.

Why Visit: Urban winery experience, locally crafted wines, excellent charcuterie boards. It’s also a great location for private events in Virginia Beach.
2. Virginia Beach Winery
If you want to experience a family-owned winery that prides itself on small-batch, handcrafted wines, Virginia Beach Winery is the place to go. They offer free tastings on weekends, $5 wine options throughout the week with rotating different wines, and fun special events throughout each month. They offer a variety of sweet and fruit-infused wines that cater to different palates.

Why Visit: $5 tastings (check their calendar for times), locally made wines, friendly atmosphere.
If you are interested in something a bit stronger, I highly recommend checking out Waterman Spirits! It’s a stunning distillery with small batches of spirits made with the cleanest process using natural ingredients.
3. Waters Edge Winery & Bistro
A unique combination of winery and bistro, Waters Edge Winery & Bistro offers a fantastic selection of delicious wine made with grapes sourced from vineyards around the world and crafted on-site. Pair your glass with a delicious meal from their bistro menu for the ultimate dining and wine-tasting experience. I highly recommend the wine slushies or a sangria flight. They have many options for the wine lover in your family, so it’s a great spot for a nice dinner while in Virginia Beach.

If you are looking for an in-depth wine tour and the full experience at one of Virginia’s premier vineyards, Williamsburg Winery is a fantastic option. At just around an hour from Virginia Beach, it is a nice option for an afternoon when you want to be out of the sun.
4. Coopers Hawk Winery and Restaurant
While Coopers Hawk is a chain, we really enjoy the offering, service and options. We have visited multiple locations along the East Coast and have always had a great experience. We are members of their wine club as well which can be utilized at any location for free tastings and picking up bottles of wine. They also have great food if you are looking for a meal.
