Heading To Walt Disney World? Is All-Star Resorts Right For You?

With over 20 resorts across Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, it’s often hard to narrow down the options to determine which resort is the best fit for your family. Across three properties, the All-Star resorts are the most affordable resort in Walt Disney World. You will find three options: Sports, Music and Movies. Each has a different theme, pool area, food court and amenities.

Are you interested in a larger-than-life Disney experience? The All-Star resorts all have a nod towards Disney history with giant statues, colorful exteriors and lots of room to run around and play.

Who should stay here: Large groups who want to travel together but stay in their own rooms, and families prioritizing time in the parks rather than time at the resort.

Location. These resorts are the furthest away from the parks, just past Animal Kingdom. It will take around 20 minutes to get to the gates of Magic Kingdom, 10 minutes to get to Hollywood Studios or EPCOT and less than 10 to get to Animal Kingdom.

The Rooms. Sports and Movies offers only standard rooms, but Music offers family suites as well.

Cost. With averages between $150-$300, it’s best to determine the time you want to travel and then look at pricing. Summer is usually the least expensive.

Themes: while the larger-than-life theming is present at all three resorts, you will find a different vibe with each one!

Music- musical themes are evident when swimming in the guitar-shaped pool with the Three Calleberos.

Sports- a giant football field, giant sports equipment for great photo opportunities, and a surf-style theme pool.

Movies- nods to classic Disney movies with larger-than-live statues, bright colors, and fun decor from movies like 101 Dalmations and Toy Story. With a fantasia-themed pool.

Food. All three All-Star resorts have their own food court with quick service options.

Transportation. Buses to all parks and Disney Springs.

Overall, the All Star Resorts can be a great fit if you want to enjoy the perks of transportation (and other benefits!) from a Disney resort. The pools are decent, the theming is fun, and it’s a great option for a large group while keeping things more cost-effective.

As a Walt Disney World resort, you get all the extra benefits of being on Disney property, the confidence of great customer service, and the convenience of having access to information in the palm of your hand (in the My Disney Experience app!). Extras include: pool games everyday, a movie on the lawn (or beach) each night, free transportation, free parking, and more.
