Would You Rather: Travel Questions

A few weeks ago Kaelene from Unlocking Kiki posted this Would You Rather related to travel. I always remember playing this game with my friends on long car rides, or during sleepovers, so I thought it would be fun to play along!

Would you rather…

Would You Rather- Paris

Travel or focus on your career at the age of 25?

This is so tough. While I am so excited to be starting to do something that I absolutely love, I am also constantly planning where to travel next. Whether it is a new state, country or continent, I can’t wait to see as much as possible. In the end my answer would likely be travel, but I would hope that my career would still be there when I return.

Have a $10,000 budget for a holiday and fly first class for $5,000 and stay in mediocre accommodation, or spend $1,000 on economy and stay in luxury accommodation?

Absolutely the luxury accommodation. Flights are over in less time than the overall trip, and luxury is a huge aspect of the vacation, if that is what you are going for. At this point in my life, I enjoy reading and writing while I fly, and then sleeping in a big comfy bed when I get to my destination.

Never take the train or never take an airplane again?

I would ditch the train. I have only been on a train a few times, and while it is nice, I can get to more places by flying.

Would You Rather- Beach

Stay in a palm hut along the seashore for seven days or stay in a log cabin in the woods for one month?

I try to avoid spiders as much as possible, and I am pretty sure they are all over the woods where this log cabin is. I also need a little bit of civilization, so an entire month in the woods wouldn’t work out well for me, I would indeed go stir crazy.

Be left behind in the bush on an African safari or be left behind in the water on a scuba trip?
I would rather not have either of these, but I am going to go with the bush. I can swim and tread water pretty well, but I don’t think I could do it for days. I would hope that I could survive a little longer being left behind from an African Safari.

Have an awesome job in a mediocre city or a mediocre job in an awesome city?

This is another tough on. I would like to say that my life doesn’t revolve around my job, which means the awesome city would win. However, if I am able to do my dream job, I don’t think the location would matter. I’m going to go with awesome job in a mediocre city. This will also help my traveling heart be able to go more places because there is less to do where I am.

Would You Rather- Amsterdam

Be able to teleport to places you’ve already been or only be able to teleport to places you’ve never been before?

Teleport to places I have never been! I am sure the past has it’s positives as well, but I would love to see what else there is on this beautiful planet. There are plenty of places I am sure I will never be able to travel to, and teleporting to them would be perfect! Maybe I’ll ask Santa for this.

Be stuck on a seven-hour delay, or turn up at the airport and realize your flight is tomorrow?

Seven-Hour delay. This happened when we were leaving for Paris 2 years ago. We ended up there much later than expected, but not a whole 24 hours later. I also don’t totally hate being in an airport before a vacation, it’s getting stuck on the way back that is a bummer.

Be able to play every musical instrument that you touch or speak every language that you hear?
I’m going to go with speak every language I hear. This would be a huge benefit, and it would help me be more comfortable when I travel to new places. Just think about how convenient it would be to be lost in a new city but know exactly what to say to find where you want to go.

Would You Rather- Ocean

Would you rather travel along the ocean floor or take a trip to outer space?

Ocean floor! This would be incredible. I love the water and I am so intrigued by all of the beings in the ocean, especially sharks! Dave would be very mad to know I picked this if I had a real life opportunity, because he would pick outer space in a heartbeat.  We have talked about it several times, he actually wanted to see if there was a way for us to be married on the moon…no thanks!

Travel back in time to meet your ancestors or forward to meet your descendants?
Forward to meet my descendants. I would love to know what my future great-great-grandchildren look like, what kind of pets they have, what their names are, if they ever heard about me or Dave. It would be amazing to know what they are interested in and what the latest technologies are.

Have in-flight WiFi but no legroom (like, zero inches) or in-flight legroom but no WiFi?
Legroom all the way! I hardly ever use or buy the wifi anyways. I like to come prepared with pre-downloaded movies, books and music.

Would You Rather- Cental Perk

Be able to eat anything and any quantity of food with no negative health effects or be refreshed and well rested after only three hours of sleep?

I would love to be able to eat anything without the negative effects. I feel as if I have a constant stomach ache most of the time, and of course it’s a shame how many calories are in all of the good stuff. Bring me all of the goodies!

Die happy in five years or die unhappy in sixty years?

This is very difficult because I would hate to leave Dave, my family and hopefully my children in five years, but I would also hate to live an unhappy life. I feel like it would affect everyone around me, so why would I wish that. It’s a toss up, and I really can’t choose with this one!

Some of these were tough! I’d love to know your answers 🙂
